Caracals are the largest of Mount Etjo's "small cats" and can weigh up to 18 kg (40 lbs.)
The most distinctive feature are the long black tufts of hair on top of their ears.
Caracals are common but rarely seen due to their secretive nature.
They are formidible hunters and Caracal kills of Springbuck and even female Nyala has been found at Mount Etjo.
